The Why

Why This Exists Today

Watching a genocide for over two years and the aftermath of it has been really heavy. The constant scream and anger to make this insanity stop. The desperation and grief and constant oscillation between the anger and deep sadness took a huge toll on my mental and emotional abilities and left me struggling to connect with my family, friends, colleagues, and strangers.

I have found many friends on the way, many brothers and people who really care, but that couldn’t really take me to the places I needed to go in order to heal the deep trauma I have suffered.

My inner knowing that the constant fear of this monster still being out there and the possibility to continue the destruction and take more and more innocent lives feels like a sickness seeping into my body like a bite frost.

The Acknowledgement

To grief, to heal is to feel back again and not just numb. I have been there before, the numbness is saving the suffering for a future date and allowing myself to be controlled.

The real power is to face the true pain and deep fears that made my soul to be tortured. To face and confront what’s holding me hostage and allow myself to take a deep, hard, cold look at it. To be able to be honest with my real emotions and work through them rather than just trying to find a bypass to the way I feel.

The real answers are there, I can find them and I will find them at the right time. I make the space and keep myself open for me to find what I am looking for.

You’re Not Alone

You’re truly not alone, you never are. To come into community and to join a place where you’re truly welcome is what this community is building. It is the understanding that we are as strong as our weakest link. We are here to breathe life into our shared humanity. To invest in those who showed up in the darkest of hours.
